<description>Another thing for some areas of Long Beach is if its in a historic district or not. The rules change considerable for anything relating to curb appeal. My wife and I found out the hard way that Bluff Heights Historic Distric has very strict guidelines to changing out windows or adding fences and pergolas.
The materials end up being more expensive and for things like windows, there&#039;s a permit related fee specific to historic districts. I don&#039;t know the full details off hand, but do the research with the neighborhood committee and the city before committing to a project.
