This is a great reminder about the importance of getting written preapproval letters BEFORE looking for a new home or condo. Sellers are expecting that to be part of the process now, and it really lends great strength to buyers when they find that perfect property.

Hi Ann, In the market here the better properties have started to sell very quickly, often with multiple offers. When a buyer locates the property they are interested in purchasing they must be ready to write and submit that offer very quickly accompanied by lender approval. Pre-approval letters really don’t carry much weight anymore. Loan commitment and lock in letters are where the real strength is.
