Originally, the land that is Belmont Shore and Naples was a vast expanse of Pacific Ocean wetlands. Later it became a part of historic Rancho Los Alamitos. In the early 1920s, Rancho Los Alamitos was subdivided to form what would become Long Beach. Local Beaches of Long Beach California:

Alamitos Beach from Alamitos to 15th Place. You can glide, ride or stride along the waters edge on the main beach from Alamitos Avenue on the west to 54th Place on the east on the 3.1-mile, 17-foot-wide Shoreline Pedestrian Bike Path. Two six foot lanes are for bicycle traffic and one five foot lane is for pedestrians. You can rent skates, bikes, umbrellas and beach chairs at Alfredos.

Bayshore Beach at 5415 E. Ocean Blvd. offers access to Alamitos Bay and other diversions such as:

play equipment for the kids

Belmont Plaza Beach at 4000 Olympic Plaza is close to the bike path and Belmont Pier. Be sure to get a front row seat (bring your own chair!) for exciting California Beach Volleyball Association events during the upcoming International Sea Festival.

Belmont Shore Beach from 39th Place to 54th Place, and Peninsula Beach from 54th to 72nd Place offer long stretches of white sand, volleyball courts and beautiful scenery.

Colorado Lagoon at 5119 E. Colorado St. offers calm waters, picnic areas and a nautical themed playground.

Junipero Beach from 15th to 39th Place can be conveniently accessed from Ocean Blvd. on Junipero Avenue which ends at a beach parking lot.

Marine Park at 5839 Appian Way is known as ‘Mothers Beach‘ because of its popularity among families with small children. All ages can relax and enjoy the day with shallow, calm waters, a lifeguard station, restrooms and play equipment.

Naples Boat Parade

The Naples Boat Parade held the second Saturday of each December. Youll see gaily decorated sailboats, yachts and gondolas as they glide through the canals. Do you own a seaworthy vessel? Belmont Heights – Long Beach California

Belmont Heights is a lovely, eclectic mix of early century homes, low rise condos, smaller apartment buildings (including some fabulous Spanish duplexes), restaurants, coffee shops, funky stores, galleries and a nice mix of neighborhood friendly small business. Just blocks from the bluffs, overlooking the harbor, the beach, and a short walk into Belmont Shore, Belmont Heights is a tree lined Long Beach Community developed in the early 20th Century, and a great place to call home. Many of the neighborhood homes were originally built as summer cottages mostly between 1905 and 1939, later becoming year round residences. More bungalow style homes can be found here than in any other community of Long Beach.

In Belmont Heights you will find a wonderful array of beautifully crafted Long Beach homes in many styles; the Craftsman Bungalow predominating with about 2/3 of the homes in the area. Other home styles found in the Belmont Heights neighborhood are:

If you are considering relocating to Long Beach, Belmont Heights would be a great consideration. Affordable and beach close, convenient to all area amenities and freeway close this would be a smart choice. We are about 20 minutes south of Los Angeles Airport – LAX, about 20 minutes North of John Wayne Airport in Irvine and even have our own airport. Long Beach Airport is a major hub for Jet Blue Airlines (my personal favorite) and is extremely easy to fly in and out of. The City of Long Beach has great employment opportunities; the Port of Long Beach being the largest. We have a little something for just about everybody.

FHA Loan Limits for Long Beach-Los Angeles and Orange County – Long Beach Real Estate News

New FHA Loan Limits

Los Angeles County and Orange County FHA loan limits are rising January 1, 2009. What does that mean to todays home buyers? This means that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans remain high through the end of 2008, buyers can qualify for higher loans on homes closing prior to the end of this year. Once the New Year rolls around buyers will have less buying power due to the lower loan limits. This is true for all residential loans, including; homes, condos and residential investment property under 4 units.

Current FHA Loan Limits through 12/31/2008	Maximum Loan Amount

Two Unit Limit	$934,200
Three Unit Limit	$1,129,250
Four Unit Limit	$1,403,400

Whats the big deal? Lower maximums loan amounts means decreased buying power.

Today is November 16, 2008. It is still possible to find and close on a home or condo before the new lower loan limits take effect. If you have been thinking about buying, were contemplating putting that purchase off until after the New Year and are in the price range that would be affected by the new lower FHA loan limits, you might want to consider getting out there right now while you can still take advantage of the higher FHA loan limits. Remember, your escrow must close prior to 12/31/2008.

Green Living in Long Beach California – Water Conservation

Owners of Long Beach Homes have a unique opportunity to contribute to the environment, go green and conserve water.

Did you know that most homeowners over water their lawns by 30% to 300%? That’s a whole lotta wasted water folks! I have to admit, I’ve been guilty of doing this myself on occasion, it’s just so nice to have a lush, green lawn and it shows a real pride in Long Beach home ownership. With the economy in shambles and water in short supply and sporting a hefty price tag, now is a good time to think of creative ways to both conserve water and money in our Long Beach Homes.

Ric Romero of ABC Eyewitness News reports: Rob Patten of Agoura Hills lives on 3/4 of an acre. His water bills have been coming in at over $300 monthly, a staggering number which made him decide to do something about it. After installing a new gadget called Cyber-Rain he has been able to reduce his monthly bill by about $100 and conserve a fair amount of water at the same time. See How it Works.

Cyber Rain XCI is an 8 zone sprinkler system which claims to save homeowners 30% to 70% on their watering bills through the use of their PC and automatic weather updates from the Internet by automatically adjusting the amount of water usage based on weather and seasonal conditions. It even provides the ability to check your water usage on your computer. Ingenious!

Jonathan Neidnagel, CEO of Cyber-Rain claims that this system can pay for itself in 3 or 4 months. Priced at about $295 this is not a cheap system, but may very well offer the best return on the investment and is a wonderful green contribution to the environment.
